RCZN is excited to launch our 2026-27 season of Cajun & Zydeco music and dance with MO’ MOJO, a world-traveled Zydeco band from Akron. Let Mo’ Mojo’s infectious rhythms transport you to the heart of Louisiana as you party the night away.
MO’ MOJO is an uplifting, female-fronted “Pardi Gras” band that uses the sounds of Louisiana (Zydeco, Cajun, New Orleans Blues, and Mardi Gras music) to create a joyful sense of community through dance. Their songs range in subject matter but ever present is the idea of connection, exemplified by titles such as “Together in Love We Drown,” and “We All Got the Same.”
MO’ MOJO … Arguably THE most dynamic, innovative Zydeco band east of the Mississippi, pushing musical limits into the realm of roots, groove, and Americana. Hard driving, high energy with fresh enticing originals ~ deep grooving Zydeco classics.
MO’ MOJO has shared the joy of Zydeco Music around the World. Selected as “Musical Ambassadors” by US State Dept “Music Abroad” program. Have played: Haiti & the Dominican Republic (2014); Tajikistan (Asia), Belize, Panama, Mexico, Barbados, and Colombia (2015); Sri Lanka (2017)
MO’ MOJO’S MUSICAL MIX – This female fronted group features three-part harmonies and traditional Creole Zydeco instrumentation of accordion, fiddle, guitar, rubboard, bass, and drums, and they build out their own sound with a tasty presence of sax, trumpet, and blues harp. In addition to powerful danceable renditions of Zydeco classics which are sure to satisfy the cravings of hardcore Zydeco Dancers, Mo’ Mojo delivers many enticing originals with lyrics that encourage the imagination and grooves that inspire.
